for the boys

This past Christmas my nephew David asked me to make him a blue puppy like the one he saw in my shop. Gee, it only took me three months! Of course, I couldn't send a puppy to David without making one for each of his brothers. So I've made four puppies - one for each boy. I put little collars on these instead of the usual neck scarf and used Velcro so they can easily take them off and put them on. Plus I added a little thrifted button for a tag.

To close out the week and kick-off the weekend... here's a picture of something that I see everyday: my bookshelves. I've always admired it when people's magazines were organized into holders. For my birthday last year Mark helped me assemble this shelf from IKEA and I put all of my magazines and books onto it. The lower shelves (which you can't see) have baskets full of fabric and notions. It's a great shelving unit because it's two-sided. The other side holds books too! The other side faces my sewing corner and holds some of Mark's books like his Penguin paperbacks. Thanks for stopping by. I hope you all have a great weekend! See you Monday.

The boys are lucky to have such a talented aunt. Your book shelves are so neat and organized. Very pleasing to look at.

I love the puppies. They are so adorable with those collars.

I am sure they will be well-loved. You did great work!
I find if I know what I am making is a gift, I have even more fun making it and put even more love into it.

I think those puppies are absolutely adorable! I absolutely love your sewing corner, bookshelves, and computer desk. We have the same computer! Yeah for us!! Macs Rock!!

(Sorry about that, I converted from PC less than a year ago, so I am still in the honeymoon phase!)

Those puppies are adorable!
And I love fully your stuffed bookshelves. Crammed with ideas and inspiration and memories I'm sure.

Lucky boys, those puppies look cute :-)

Your shelves look amazing. I still dream I could make my studio as stylish as yours. I'd also love to have a nosey through all those books and magazines :-)

Enjoy your weekend!

The pups are so sweet-- you do such nice little even tiny stitching *sigh*.

Operation JCB is still a go-- I'll have some new info by Monday (hopefully).

to quote you: ACK!! so cute. love them. and i love the photograph of the book shelf. makes me want to come over and take a look.

The dogs are lovely! And I need shelves as organised as you!

I really got inspired by your shelves. I think we need them like yours to keep our our references and magazines so then our desktops can be clear. Got to find some good (and cheap)ones. ^_^
