What do I do with this new studio space? My old desk is in our entryway now. I have a new table from IKEA that will work as a sewing station + cutting surface + computer desk. The table is white as are my computer, bookshelves and a little rolling storage cart. My chair is a very pale blue. The walls in the room are painted a sort of pale peach-tan color that I wouldn't have picked, but I can work with it since we're renting. Yesterday and today I worked on rearranging furniture and now I'm trying to get rid of some magazines. It's so hard to say goodbye... but I need the space. Goodbye Conde Nast. I've moved on. My style has changed since we first met and you no longer belong on my shelves.
I've also started a new tradition. At the beginning of each month I'm going through my magazine collection to pull out all of the back issues that I've kept for that month. Why keep these things if I'm not going to enjoy them more often? And guess what I discovered for October? I have eight years worth of MSL + one MS The Catalog for Living with a Halloween theme! I sure do miss that shop. I had no idea that I'd kept so many issues over the years and I'm looking forward to this process of discovery each month.
