First, thank you all so much for the well wishes and congratulations on the house!
Second, these are the beautiful peonies that the amazingly kind woman at the antique store gave me (right from off of the counter!) when I told her about my new (old) house. She is a gardner as well as an antique dealer. She told me that this fall she's planning on changing up her peony beds and will sell me some of her amazing, mature plants. (Photo taken with my camera phone so it's not very good.)
Third... henceforth, this shall be known as the outfit that I wore to close on our new (old) house! (Again, this photo was taken with my camera phone plus this is the mirror in the house's entryway and is very old.)
Tomorrow morning at 11:00 am we're closing on our house! Yep, we went and did it. We bought a house and we're thrilled. Even though we're closing tomorrow, the actual moving day isn't until the 21st. Stay tuned for updates and more photos!
The house is an American Foursquare built in 1916. The entire house was moved from a small town in 1939 to its current location in Sioux Falls.
A view of the entry into the living room and view into the front sunroom.
I took this photo while standing on the stair and looking towards the fireplace in the living room. The sunroom is to the left and dining room to the right.
Here's a shot of the dining room. There are two built-in hutches. To the right is the entry to the kitchen. Through that doorway on the back wall (the green carpet) is an extra room that we're going to turn into a library.
And this is the 80s kitchen with the dropped ceiling. I think it needs some help.
