Item no.1 on the christmas list

I am no good at making a Christmas list. I always put it off. This year was no exception. There was only one sure thing... the yellow + gray Daydream wallpaper by Julia Rothman. It was a tough decision, so many lovely color options, but I persevered. Whew. Almost went with the purple + gray, but I wanted something with more contrast since our walls are gray. I'm only getting one roll and plan to frame big pieces of the paper. I'll put them into nice big frames which I'll paint white. At least that's the idea for today. It may change. Maybe.

If I Could Eat Only One Food For The Rest Of My Life

I made the Sour Cream Chocolate Cake with Cream Cheese Peanut Butter Frosting and Peanut Butter Chocolate Glaze, from the Sky High cake book, the one that Smitten Kitchen made famous, for my dad's birthday bash on Saturday. I doubled the recipe to make two cakes to be sure that I had enough for the crowd. Honestly though, I probably would have been fine with just one because when she says to slice thin and it serves more than you think, she is dead right. Wow. Delicious.

Wallpaper For Me

I was on ebay the other day and found the perfect wallpaper for our foyer. I ordered a sample and as soon as it arrived Mark and I agreed that it is perfect! You can't tell from this image, but the lighter gray is quite silvery. Now... if I only knew how to hang wallpaper I could actually put it up on the walls. 

Traci, Avert Your Eyes

Here it is... a sneak peek at Gold (something sparkly), Frankincense (something that smells nice) and Myrrh (something extra special), also known as the back-tack 4 package I put together for my swap partner Traci of little messes. As soon as we got our swap partner info, Traci and I knew we were a great match. I can't wait to get my package from her and for her to get all of these goodies!
