I learned a valuable lesson (again) while making this cake... it is very important to chill after icing each layer. I did not follow my own advice and this sucker started to ooze. Layers were shifting in one directing like a small sugary mudslide. I literally thought I was going to lose the orange layer completely. Fortunately, my dear Friend Meagan (also the mother of the birhtday girl) was gracious and wonderful and loved the cake, ooze and all! 

I purchased a 4-pack of Wilton gel food colors in pastel Rose, Blue, Green, and Yellow and they turned out great. Super saturated and so fun. I added the dots to coordinate with the party colors. Plus, it helped catch the eye and detract from the side that was not-so-pretty (and not pictured!).

Hello all! I am downsizing my wardrobe and as a result I have have a couple of items that I was going to place on ebay but I thought that I'd offer them here first.

1. A size Large Dealtry + Wiksten Summer 2011 dress that has never (ever!) been worn. I am sure that I don't have to tell you how beautiful, well made, comfortable, and rare Wiksten pieces are. Again, it is a size Large and the price is $295 + $10 shipping (just what I paid and I promise not a penny more).

2. I also have a purple Wiksten skirt that I purchased from her shop way way back in 2008. I wore it once and was going to ebay that as well but if you're interested here's a pic. It is also a size large and I would sell it for $50 + $10 shipping.
