One :: One trip to the thrift store and I snapped up this set of six cups in my favorite shade of aqua blue. Delish!

Two :: Two weeks away and zero dead plants! That's right, our house plants survived the first trip of the summer (much thanks to my little sister who watered them for us). I really love the gray crocks mixed with the white milk glass. All containers were found at thrift stores, flea markets or estate sales.

Three :: After three years here I finally found the right rug for the living room.

cortado

Mark has discovered a new favorite morning (a relative term in our house) coffee drink. The cortado. He tells me that technically our glasses are a little large (they are only 7 oz.), but I like my morning dose of caffeine to be on the generous side so they're perfect for me. You may recognize the spot where this photo was taken from this post, or perhaps this one. That speckled surface under the cup is the corner of my desk which is currently situated in our front sun room. The room is surrounded on three sides by windows and is a lovely place to work in all but the coldest of Winter months. (You can sort of see how it's laid out in this photo.) My desk, an old library table, was an estate sale find. The top is stained and the finish is cracking in places and I love it all the more for it's lack of preciousness. 

 

seasonal fix

I seem to crave super soft wash-worn cottons and linens in the Summertime. This craving recently culminated in an urgent trip to the thrift store where I scored a gingham table cloth, blue floral pillow case and floral napkin. All 100% cotton and all for just .48 cents!

I broke down this year and bought some Valentines because I have no time. It will be a miracle if they make it into the mail. It is a little bittersweet and a lot efficient. Kind of like eating chocolate.

I love this print. 

It's from a Pottery Barn bedding set and although I couldn't handle a whole bed done up in it, I would absolutely use it for a throw at the end of the guest bed. So fresh and fun!

miniature wreath

I found this brooch at our local flea market. I have a few pieces like this, sparkly and bright, they always catch my eye and I pick them up fully intending to use them. I could put them on my coat or a bag or something, but I never do. Still they're so pretty.
